Norfolk County Council’s Higher Aspiration Scheme

They exist in response to the fact that Norfolk has some of the lowest progression rates to Higher Education in the country, and they work with young people in the county aged 16-18 to inform and enthuse them about career and study opportunities available.

With over 8000 young people from Norfolk Sixth Forms signed up to our service, they organise a range of events to facilitate contact with different course leaders and professionals and work closely with UEA, NUA, and Further Education colleges in the region to try and level the playing field for Norfolk state school students.

They look at ways to support teachers and students of minority A-level subjects which rely heavily on set texts
(languages, English literature, and drama), to ensure all students have access to cultural experiences of these texts
outside the classroom, which is becoming increasingly less viable financially as class sizes of these subjects get smaller.
This could be a film, play, or a film adaptation of a novel.
