Meeting Ourselves in Film – Workshop

Meeting Ourselves in Film is an experiential workshop led by Mark Wentworth and Rob Middleton exploring why certain films and characters stay with us long after we’ve watched them. Drawing on the idea that film can act as a symbolic mirror for our inner lives, the workshop uses imagination, play, and simple drawing to bring meaningful film scenes and characters to life, helping participants uncover personal insights, forgotten strengths, and unexplored possibilities within themselves.

Participants will engage in creative exercises—translating screen moments onto the page through image-making—to build greater self-awareness and deepen their understanding of why particular films resonate so strongly. No previous experience or artistic skill is required; it’s open to anyone curious about the relationship between film, imagination, and human nature.

Mark Wentworth is an Archetypal Colour Consultant working with colour, dreams, and story, while Rob Middleton is a cartoonist and illustrator known for helping self-declared “non-artists” learn to draw.
