The Sir John Hurt Centre at Cinema City is housed in the Grade I listed Stuart Hall and Suckling House buildings, nestled amongst the Norwich Lanes which boast some of the finest medieval architecture to be found anywhere in the UK.
The Centre is furnished with state-of-the-art equipment, as well as accessible facilities and level flooring throughout. It is accessed via the stairs or lift from the Cinema City courtyard.
The two rooms available to hire, together or separately, are The Marchesi Room and The Colman Room, both featuring stunning views of the medieval St Andrew’s Church opposite. With modern modular furniture throughout, layout style options range from theatre to boardroom, cabaret to U-shape.

The Marchesi Room
Named after the founder of the Round Table, The Marchesi Room is a bright, airy space with large period windows looking onto the Norwich Lanes and medieval church opposite. It offers a perfect space for business meetings, conferences, seminars, talks, private screenings, drinks parties or private dining.
The room has modern screening and audio facilities, and a dedicated servery area for food and drinks. The space also features display panels telling the history of cinema in Norfolk and cabinets with screen heritage artefacts.

The Colman Room
The Colman Room features bright white walls, original medieval windows facing St Andrew’s Church and a Gothic window looking out over the Cinema City courtyard – all creating a great space for professional meetings, seminars, talks, or training sessions.
The room was named after sisters Ethel and Caroline of the famous Norwich Colman family, who restored the site at the beginning of the 20th century. The room also contains display panels telling the story of cinema history in Norfolk.
